Innovative Gerontological Learning Hub
Project Overview
The Innovative Gerontological Learning Hub (The Hub) is established in February 2024 and is funded by the Quality Enhancement Support Scheme. The Hub is embedded with virtual reality technology and simulation ageing tools to enable students and the public to experience the ageing process and the needs of older adults. The primary goal of the Hub is to empower both students and public with necessary knowledge and skills to take care of older adults.
Facilities
Upon entering the VR Cave Automatic Virtual Environment (CAVE) system, you will experience the challenges associated with aging.

360 Designer Training Workshop – 19/02/2024
Regular Training Workshops are offered to academics and health professionals, providing them with the opportunity to unleash their creativity and utilize interface to tailor the education materials.

VR Cave Training Workshop – 06/03/2024
VR Hub helps educators to immerse students or participants in realistic virtual environments, enhance learning and foster a deeper understanding of complex concepts.
Student Learning Activities – 9/4/2024
Students immersed themselves into the daily life of the older adults and experienced the challenges of the older adults that might encounter when they aged.
Students could have the opportunity to experience life and death issues and engage in discussion about how these experiences shape societal perspectives and personal beliefs.
