SCHOOL OF CONTINUING EDUCATION

 

The School of Continuing Education, one of the eight Faculties/Schools of the University and a major provider of continuing and professional education in Hong Kong, offers a wide range of full- and part-time programmes at the post-secondary, undergraduate and postgraduate levels for young learners and working adults. It also offers in-house training and short courses to meet the community needs and market demands. Operated on a self-financed basis, the School and its College of International Education currently employ about 400 full-time staff and 500 part-time instructors. The School is inviting applications for the following position:

 

Assistant Executive Officer (Ref. No.: 23240790)

 

The appointee will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring services related to office repair and maintenance, office security, cleaning and hygiene, or any other areas in facilities management as assigned. Duties may include: a) preparation of tender documents; b) monitoring of works programme; c) coordination and liaison with end users, contractors and suppliers, University departments and building manager; d) supervision of in-house and outsourced staff in performing routine repairs and maintenance works; e) implementation of security procedures and practices; f) monitoring daily operation of outsourced security-related services. The appointee has to attend to emergency calls after work hours and assist in any ad-hoc projects.

 

Requirements:

  • Degree holder preferably with three years of relevant experience (holders of Associate Degree / Higher Diploma with at least three years of relevant experience may also be considered);
  • Strong sense of ownership and problem-solving mindset;
  • Self-motivated, responsible, service-oriented, detail-minded, and good at multi-tasking;
  • Able to work collaboratively and independently;
  • Good analytical, organisational and communication skills are essential;
  • Proficiency in computer applications, knowledge in AutoCAD application will be an advantage; and
  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.

 

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written assessment.

 

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

 

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
