The School of Continuing Education, one of the eight Faculties/Schools/Academy of the University and a major provider of continuing and professional education in Hong Kong, offers a wide range of full-time and part-time programmes at the post-secondary, undergraduate and postgraduate levels for young learners and working adults. It also offers in-house training and short courses to meet the community needs and market demands. Operated on a self-financed basis, the School and its College of International Education currently employ about 400 full-time staff and 500 part-time instructors. The School is inviting applications for the following position:
Administrative Assistant (Ref. No.: 23240960)
The appointee will be assigned to the Learning Centre Administration Section of the School to provide administrative and clerical support in the day-to-day operation. Duties include but not limited to: a) assisting in daily class operation and teaching equipment / centre facilities preparation; b) maintaining records, preparing reports, and performing administrative duties; c) data inputting and compiling; d) providing frontline support for classes and counter services including enquiry handling; and e) coordinating and liaising with internal and external parties such as instructors, students and contractors. The appointee is also required to perform shift duty on weekday evenings.
Requirements:
- HKCEE 5 passes including English Language (at least grade C if Syllabus A / Level 2 from 2007), or at least 5 subjects attaining Level 2 in HKDSE including English Language and Chinese Language, or Yi Jin graduates;
- At least 2 years of relevant experience;
- Good communication and customer services skills;
- Proficiency in computer applications; and
- Knowledge in basic operation and setup of audio-visual equipment is an advantage.
The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
