The School of Continuing Education, one of the eight Faculties/Schools of the University and a major provider of continuing and professional education in Hong Kong, offers a wide range of full-time and part-time programmes at the post-secondary, undergraduate and postgraduate levels for young learners and working adults. It also offers in-house training and short courses to meet the community needs and market demands. Operated on a self-financed basis, the School and its College of International Education currently employ about 400 full-time staff and 550 part-time instructors. The School is inviting applications for the following position:
Senior Research Assistant / Research Assistant (Ref. No.: 23241046)
The Virtual Exchange Centre is looking for an appointee to provide support to the research on online virtual exchange and interculture effectiveness of young people. Major duties include literature review, interview, quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis, drafting/preparing of journal paper(s), coordination with internal and external parties, coordination with student helpers, etc. They will also be required to perform any other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- A Masters’s degree, or a bachelor's degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience in statistical data analysis. Candidates with less experience will also be considered for the position of Research Assistant.
- An organised, efficient, highly motivated team player with positive working attitude, good communication (Chinese and English) and interpersonal skills.
- Strong data interpretation and reporting skills, with demonstrated accuracy and meticulous attention to details.
- High proficiency in computer applications (e.g. MS Office, Chinese and English Word Processing) and good knowledge in compilation of statistical data, experience in data analysis (e.g. SPSS, AMOS, MPlus).
The appointee will be required to serve on the Shatin Shek Mun Campus.
Appointments will be offered on a fixed-term contract of Eight months.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
