Part-Time Teaching Assistant For Full-Time Associate Degree Programme

 

Established in 2000, the College of International Education (CIE) is a self-funded unit of the Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), offering full-time Sub-degree and Undergraduate (UG) Honours Degree Programmes at the HKBU Shatin Shek Mun campuses. It is a major education providing unit of the School of Continuing Education (SCE), one of the Faculties/Schools of HKBU. CIE currently enrolls about 3,500 students and is committed to sustaining the University’s mission of providing quality whole-person higher education with a Christian heritage. English is used as the medium of instruction at the College. Applications are now invited for the part-time teaching assistant position for the first semester of the 2024-2025 academic year.

 

Part-Time Teaching Assistant (Ref. No.: PRSCEP0007/24-25)

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide teaching support to the course “Instructional Practices in Team Sports” of the Sport and Recreation Studies Concentration Studies;
  • Responsible for preparing materials and equipment, planning hiking routes and coordinating logistics for outdoor activities;
  • Provide on-field support to teaching staff and students during the hiking and outdoor activities;
  • Provide first aid support during the hiking and outdoor activities;
  • Take responsibility for supervising and guiding students during hiking and outdoor activities;
  • Work mainly on weekend, and occasional work during weekdays is also required.

 

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Sport Sciences and Physical Education or related disciplines with coaching certificate in hiking, and a valid certificate in first aid;
  • Good experience in organising and leading local hiking activities;
  • Solid command of written and spoken English and Chinese;
  • Self-motivated and be able to work independently;
  • Good interpersonal, communication and organisational skills and be a good team player.
